PCB to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Day during first T20I in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, 24 October 2025: The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will turn 💗 pink on 28 October when Pakistan 🇵🇰 face South Africa 🇿🇦 in the opening T20 International of the three-match series. The initiative is part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) commitment to using the power of cricket 🏏 to promote meaningful social causes.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, the PCB is partnering with Pink Ribbon Pakistan 🎀 to raise awareness about breast cancer, one of the most common health challenges faced by women worldwide 🌍. The event coincides with #PINKtober, globally recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which highlights the importance of early detection and regular screening 🩺.

💞 A Stadium Turned Pink for a Purpose

To mark the occasion, the Pakistan men’s cricket team will don special pink-themed kits, symbolising hope, strength, and solidarity with those affected by breast cancer. The South African players and match officials will also wear pink ribbons 🎗️ in unity with the cause.

The coaching staff, commentators, broadcasters, and PCB officials will participate by proudly wearing pink ribbons throughout the match. Even the stumps will feature pink branding, while the stadium décor and broadcast graphics will include breast cancer awareness messages to amplify the campaign’s visibility 💬.

During the live telecast, commentators will deliver informative messages and awareness insights to educate audiences about prevention, early detection, and the importance of routine checkups.

🏥 Free Screenings and Awareness Drive

In partnership with the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Trust Hospital at Kalma Chowk, Lahore, visitors will be offered free clinical examinations and screenings on 28 October — encouraging women to take proactive steps toward their health and wellbeing 💪.

The PCB’s collaboration with Pink Ribbon Pakistan is part of a long-standing commitment to drive social impact through sport. By using cricket’s vast popularity and reach, the PCB aims to spread awareness, foster open conversations, and promote early screening to help save lives ❤️.

💬 PCB COO Sumair Ahmed Syed said:

“The Pakistan Cricket Board takes immense pride in using the power and reach of cricket to create awareness about causes that truly matter to our society.
